"The Tiger Woods infidelity scandal has aroused a great deal of curiosity about sex addicts and sex addiction," says Houston, who has been researching infidelity for over 16 years. Even in medical circles, sex addiction is a highly controversial topic – one on which even medical professionals don't agree."

Houston continues, "In early December when I first mentioned the topic of sex addiction in connection with Tiger Woods, I received a flood of questions from my readers. Many of them are in marriages or relationships with serial cheaters.

"Although a qualified medical professional is the only one who can make an accurate diagnosis about such things, anyone can look at alist of common behaviors and make an educated guess.

Houston's list of behaviors and characteristics common to sex addicts is based on information gathered from several medical sites."

Why People Want to Know

Houston, who is frequently called on by the media to comment on high profile infidelity and infidelity-related breaking news, says people have different reasons for want if Tiger Woods is really a sex addict.

Says Houston, "Women in relationships with serial cheaters want to know because their husbands or boyfriends might be sex addicts too.."

"Tiger's fans, his sponsors, and probably his wife want to know because a valid medical reason for Tiger's behavior would put the sex scandal in an entirely different light."

"Many cheating men want to know so they can use sex addiction as an excuse for their infidelity when they get caught."

Houston's Opinion

Having interviewed literally thousands of cheaters and infidelity victims of both sexes over the years, Houston observes, "I've encountered many serial cheaters who use sex addiction as an excuse for their infidelity. But this does NOT appear to be the case with Tiger Woods. From what I've read, I think Tiger Woods may be one of the 16 million Americans who is truly addicted to sex."
