Attract The Right Job Or Clientele:

Leadership comes in many forms and flavors, but one more notable is when you lead with change. Often, change arises due to deep frustration and encourages the deep desire to move past all barriers for the better scenario to come to fruition.

My Story

We have the perfect flurry of examples today regarding frustrations on many levels for both business and personal dealings and can use deep thinking for any of us to lead with change. For many, the popularity factor weighs in to produce negative results. However, forward-thinking people are typically not the popular type but can lead with change and produce the results many want to experience.

The internet and social media allow us to connect with people we admire, can learn from, work with, collaborate, and greatly enhance our perspectives should we be willing. Age, gender, race, and country of birth have no bearing for those dedicated to improving themselves and the communities that can use their help.

Finding where we fit in provides more meaning for life in general and satisfaction in knowing we can help make a difference for the better. The initial dedication to realizing the answer to ‘why me?’ can move us from feeling sorry for ourselves to recognize the good that can come from unpleasant experiences.

By choosing our alliances well, we find renewed enthusiasm and motivation to continue moving in the direction that we view as meaningful. Per the observation, yesterday another insisted that I shouldn’t be working but enjoying life. The problem is attempting to impose one’s values and view of life on another. I quickly responded with my perspective of life.

My joy comes in knowing that I’m striving to help an organization of choice that may ultimately help many improve their status in life. While the ideal in mind sounds almost absurd, it isn’t when we find the many who hold similar dreams. The conversation took a different direction as the point was made and understood upon conveying the sentiment.

As we age, we may not be as technically savvy as younger generations; however, life and business experiences give us insights worthy of sharing to help further progress. Those willing to listen and learn for a moment in time can uncover nuggets from seniors that will help substantially to help you lead with change.

An excellent example is a newly launched book, Leading Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, by Rohini Anand. Upon being asked why she wrote the book, her reply is,

DEI Insights by Rohini Anand

Leading Global Diversity.

“Because in my global D&I career, I’ve learned some hard lessons.’

Your Story:
Do You Lead with Change?

Organizations will do well to incorporate multiple generations to share knowledge, experience and build a more robust business development plan. Business can potentially hasten the learning curve for younger people and improve results by having experienced elders employed as mentors. The qualifier is to instill respect as a requirement for a multi-generational staff, alongside diversity and inclusion for all.

You can lead with change by sticking to your principles, being consistent in all you do, and striving to empower others. Reflect on the issues you and your peers had to grapple with and the change you want to see in the workplace and society in general.

Create a committee, a department, or an organization and dedicate your work to influencing the change you want to see and experience.

When others relay ‘that won’t work,’ respond by asking, ‘why?’ Listen carefully for insightful tips and what you may include to enable you to lead with change. Should you hear the worst, know that you are working on different terms not to waste further time and move on.

Although it can take years, people will come to appreciate your work and creative ideas over time. Keep up the excellent work and encourage others to do the same!
