Robert Dilenschneider, former CEO of Hill and Knowlton, is releasing the fifth edition of The Public Relations Handbook on Feb. 15.
The new edition of the book, which was first published in 1967, covers such topics as leveraging the internet and social media, supporting top management in the event of a crisis or scandal, working with the media effectively and positively positioning a company’s commitment to environmental, social and governance issues.
Dilenschneider, 78, helmed H&K from 1986 to 1991.
During his tenure, H&K handled the Chilean grape tampering crisis, Citizens for a Free Kuwait, US Catholic Conference's anti-abortion push, US Steel/Marathon Oil merger and the Three Mile Island disaster.
He opened The Dilenschneider Group in 1991.
