Edward Segal is a crisis communications and management expert who is available to news organizations to provide analysis and commentary about how corporations and high-profile individuals manage crisis situations and respond to criticism.

Segal's insights and observations are based on his 30 years' experience preventing and handling a wide range of PR crisis situations for clients and employers.  Some crisis issues were related to current events or controversies that generated national headlines; others were internal in nature and threatened the stability of the companies, employee morale, and continued participation and membership in organizations.

Segal has dealt with PR crisis issues involving sexual abuse and unethical behavior by company officials, mismanagement of corporate finances, racial incidents, business bankruptcies, property rights, the safety of the nation's blood supply, airline safety, seafood, the economic impact of traffic congestion, and other crisis situations.

After the September 2018 natural gas-related explosions and fires in the Boston suburbs, and out of concern that a similar tragedy could occur in his neighborhood, Segal is leading a PR crisis project to require public disclosure about natural gas leaks in Washington.  He launched an advocacy campaign to pass legislation requiring transparency, accountability, and communication about gas leaks from the regional utility company and advised elected officials and political candidates about the situation.
