Protest Showing Divisions in America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Divisions in America have become increasingly toxic, as shown by the conflict over the Mueller report, efforts to build the wall, views about the immigration crisis, opinions about establishing a tax policy and more.  Almost every decision made nationally, in regions, and in cities is subject to an intense political fight.  Then, the battle continues in the courts.

So what can we do about this breakdown in society?  In response, criminal justice expert Paul Brakke, publisher of American Leadership Books and author of nine books on crime and American society, has developed a national program for healing the divisions in America.  It is part of a comprehensive program dealing with the major issues of today, including improving citizen-police relationships, the immigration issue, the opioid crisis, and prison reform.  These each examine the issue from a pragmatic conservative perspective, taking into costs and results, and suggest solutions to resolve these problems and heal America.

This second program on healing the divisions in America is designed to be used by teachers and professors, citizen groups, and national, state, and county government officials interested in social issues.  To this end, Brakke has been contacting thousands of high school, college, and university administrators and other legislators in Washington, D.C., with his recommendations on what to do.

This program, like others in the series, includes these components:

             - a comprehensive 10-page white paper How We Can Overcome National Divisions,

             - three informational videos and PowerPoint presentations based on this white paper: How We Can Overcome National Divisions, Dealing with Other National Divisions, and Ways to Heal the National Divides.

             -  three 4 to 6 minute collections of short 15-30 second promotional videos featuring different recommendations drawn from the white paper and informational videos.

Some examples of over two dozen recommendations include these:

  • It may be more important to permit separate urban and rural rights than to emphasize the power of states' rights.
  • We need to educate ourselves about ethnic differences to increase tolerance for those with cultural differences.
  • Individuals could be encouraged to engage in volunteer work to help those in other generations.
  • Establish re-education training centers and retreats for wealthy individuals to help motivate them to want to help those less fortunate.
  • Charities might be given donations earmarked for those in the greatest need, which would decrease income inequality the most.
  • Both citizens and legislators should be reassured that bipartisanship can and should work in supporting certain legislation.

In making these observations and recommendations for healing the divisions in America, Brakke has drawn on more than five years of research on the U.S. criminal justice system and divisions in America society, and he has written about these divisions in a chapter in Crime in America and in Fractured America.  He offers a unique conservative approach to crime, criminal justice, and American society, based on applying an economic business model.  The goal is to do what works most efficiently to reduce costs and create more productive citizens.

The videos for his program are available on the American Leadership Books' YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfHgXXiW3jgODnaypgcYZFw.  The whole program of videos, PowerPoints, and white papers will be available on the American Leadership Books' website in July.

To learn more, you can get a copy of Crime in America or Fractured America.  The books are available through Amazon, Kindle, and major bookstores.   Also, free copies are available for government officials and politicians who are seeking ways to reduce the divisions in American society www.crimeinamericathebook.com or at www.fracturedamerica.com.   Review copies are also available for high school and college teachers who might want to use these books and presentation materials in their classes.  Members of the media can obtain information there, too.
