In this episode, we’re talking about creating deliberate intent.

You know, Sir Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, didn’t reach the summit of Everest because they were out for a walk. And someone doesn’t become an Olympic champion by playing in their neighborhood. I could give you a hundred examples of this. I mean, wandering around is a fine way to enjoy an afternoon, but it’s not a good way to reach a goal.

Playing tennis can be fun, but it won’t turn you into Serena Williams and you won’t reach your goals without deliberate intent. And deliberate intent requires that you answer some questions. The first one is, what is your goal? If the goal isn’t clear, it’s pretty hard to create much deliberate intent. And then equally important is why do you want it?

Those are the two most important questions to any goal-setting endeavor. But setting a goal is only half of the effort. Learn more in the video below.
