Valeri’s Story

There comes a time when the groundwork for our vision is in place and ready to spring forward. It was a long two and a half years working to rebrand our company. We had to look and go deep into thought to make sure every little detail was examined, understood and utilized to serve us well. And when you are working with top notch advisors, you are often sent back to the drawing board. UGH! At times it was frustrating and agonizing to start over, particularly when I thought we had it all figured out.

As we changed over to the new brand of working with women humanitarian leaders, I found it to be a very different experience from working with entrepreneurs. Most of our members are still entrepreneurs at heart, but their focus is on changing lives and making a difference in our world.

Organic Growth

Our members work toward learning how they can give as opposed to finding out how they will receive. They are less concerned with getting clients even though they have for-profit businesses. As their audience hears about their work changing lives, receiving becomes an organic process.

The clients, the money, and all else needed seems to appear because the noble cause attracts interest. It is proven over and over again that when we work from our hearts what we need comes naturally and organically eliminating the need to be aggressive.

The Magic

Dr. Hunnicutt

The moment our members come together in meetings and at our events is when “miracles” seemingly happen. They share their gifts, talents, and information to assist one another. These are compassionate, heartfelt people.

Dr. Veronica Hunnicutt exemplifies working with underprivileged communities. Her work is primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over several decades, many of the mayors in San Francisco have called on Dr. Hunnicutt to be on their Advisory Board. She sits on many boards to help her community. Dr. Hunnicutt continues to energize people with her work in other areas, too. She will soon be meeting with some of our members in New Orleans.

Greta Gladney

Greta is our PWIC President and founder of The Renaissance Project, in New Orleans, and will be meeting with Dr. Hunnicutt. Greta has recently named a “Change Maker in New Orleans.” Greta’s nonprofit works with children ages 16-21 to teach them life skills and place them in jobs.

Strength in Numbers

Aletha Strong, community activist, and Dr. Denise Strong, former professor, and administrator at the University of New Orleans will also be meeting with Dr. Hunnicutt while she is visiting in New Orleans. With all of these brilliant minds coming together for a collaborative effort, our entire organization is excited to witness the outcome!

Collaborative Magic

Our PWIC International City President, Kimberly Whigham from Belton, TX gives us another example. She met with one of our new members, Jackie Forsyth, in Austin, TX last week. Finding they have so much in common, the two connected and collaborated for more than 5 hours while laughing and sharing about their lives.

The time was well spent. Jackie is now working with Kimberly to form a new PWIC City connection this summer in Austin, TX. Jackie was highly inspired hearing how we work with our members and assist them in furthering their projects. She is now part of our International Team as our new Membership Director. We are excited to have both women who are catalysts for positive world change. Kimberly Whigham, PWIC International President Jackie Forsyth, PWIC Membership Director.

When our members get together the “Miracles” begin to happen. They connect and collaborate and work together to make a Bigger Impact to change more lives.

Transformation Effect

Each new member first appears in front of us working by herself. However, I have seen how our members come together and very quickly began to work on projects together. Their endeavors begin to expand from the initial meeting. The uniqueness is the feeling of support among one another. It is the support and collaborative mindset that sees new partnerships and possibilities take hold at the start. I find it inspiring to watch the transformation unfold.

When the right people come together to collaborate who are compassionate about helping others the vision expands, and a Bigger Impact occurs. ~Valeri Bocage
