FOM Coach Amy Scupham shares what her experience getting coached with Frame of Mind Coaching™ was like and why she decided to become a coach!
How did you hear about Frame of Mind Coaching™?
My friend and fellow FOM Coach, Becca Buttermore, called me four and a half years ago on her way home from FOM Methods, part of the Frame of Mind Coaching™ Certification program. I remember her saying, “You should really do this!." She then introduced me to Kim Ades, President and Founder of Frame of Mind Coaching™, and the rest is history.
What were you struggling with prior to coaching and how did coaching impact that?
I had some of the everyday struggles! It was primarily personal relationships that were tough. Through coaching, Kim helped me see that my thinking was impacting my results. The “tough." relationships were with people who are very important to me and I love them dearly. Now those relationships are happy and healthy, and so am I!
Do you still apply what you learned in coaching to your life now?
Every day in every way. Frame of Mind Coaching™ taught me how to manage my thoughts, use journaling to work through the tough times and to design the life I want!
Why did you decide to pursue becoming an FOM Coach?
FOM Coach Becca Buttermore and I have been friends for 20 years, and we always talked about working together one day. We never knew how that would work as she owns an optometry practice and I work in finance. Then I got coached, and the experience was so fantastic and life changing. It did not take long for me to decide it was something I wanted to be a part of!
What type of people do you coach?
I coach highly driven, successful individuals who may be struggling in one or more areas of their life. They may have strained personal and professional relationships, they may be struggling in their role as a leader or they may be experiencing conflict with a colleague’s opposing management style, for example.
What is your impact on your coaching clients?
They are happier and more at peace with life. I give them the tools to align their thinking with their desires and teach them how to focus on things that drive them in that direction. This has a huge impact on their business as they learn not only how to propel their own career forward but also how they can get the best out of those working for and with them. It’s a win-win!
What do you get out of coaching others?
Each coaching journey is different. Helping people through their struggles and giving them tools to create their best life is extraordinarily rewarding. I’ve gained new friends and I learn something new about myself from each client experience! Coaching others really helps me to stay centered.
