The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has become the latest victim of censorship due to being advised by the Trump administration not to use seven "dangerous" words. The edict to exclude these words: "vulnerable," "entitlement," "diversity," "transgender," "fetus," "evidence-based," and "science-based," has inspired widespread outrage.
Now a poem on these words by internationally-known author Gini Graham Scott, Ph.D. has been turned into an illustrated book 7 Lost Words, now available on Amazon and Kindle. https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Words-Gini-Graham-Scott/dp/1981834729. The poem, featured below, shows how excluding these words not only discredits certain ideas and groups but is censorship and an attack on free speech. Here's the poem:
There are now seven words that you can't say,
So what they refer to will go away.
"Entitlement's" gone, because it suggests giving
To someone needy, though they may stop living.
Then, there's "fetus," we can't have that.
The mother has to give birth no matter what.
And anything "science-based" has to go.
Plus "evidence-based," they don't want you to know.
Even poor "vulnerable" has to leave, too.
'Cause you have to be strong; no weakness for you.
No more "diversity" either, so we can be one.
And "transgender" begone, your time is done.
Yeah, these seven words are the first to depart.
What words are next, as the U.S. falls apart?
