They are dreaming of another future than what the grown ups are going for. Whether at the UN or in Fermanagh, Miami or LA, students, parents, teachers, families will be marching as a Climate Strike to protest polluting the Earth and ask to take action now to prevent human extinction along with the continuing impact that oil based energy and coal extraction, trash, and waste are having on the oceans, the poles, our air and our water.
September 20th has been a call round the Earth to ask for sanity, redirection, faster action, and consistency to cool the Blue Planet. There will be a call for human action tomorrow to redirect resignation, cynicism, selfishness, greed, and move towards environmental justice, healthier neighborhoods, green jobs, and a positive future.
It is a crusade for the end of an era dedicated to burning resources and being blind to our human impact on the biosphere that we all either steward or lose. They are peacefully shining a light on the floods, the storms, the lost birds, the potentially forever-lost time and the most important choices we will make today that will change everything. It's time to pay the piper and the message is to stand up for the Earth, generations yet unborn, and the possibility of restoring balance through better choices and ending fossil fuel dependency and shortsighted economic decisions that have consequences and imperil lives. This is a call for new leadership, new behavior, and another way of life before it is too late. Can you hear her? Can we hear her? Can we act, create a lifestyle revolution, and stand with her that its time to review our part in creation and start cooperating as fast as we can.
She is articulate, direct, and unwilling to be popular. Please listen, look, learn and respond to the school strikes and those who can not vote. She is offering an alternative view for our future and all of humanity. "Our house is falling apart. The future is in your hands now. It will take courage to respond" Wake up and create "cathedral thinking"....do the impossible now because.... we do not have time to fail.
