Journalist Carey Gillam’s investigative reporting about Bayer/Monsanto, and Attorney Rob Bilott’s litigation work against DuPont have exposed and helped mitigate massive pollution and poisoning by the chemical giants.

They will share their stories with FPA president Ian Williams in a Zoom briefing on Monday with journalists and members of the CommPRO community.

Monsanto owner Bayer has agreed to pay at least $11 billion to settle claims that its Roundup products cause cancer, after evidence of the company’s efforts to manipulate science were exposed by Gillam and lawyers representing thousands of cancer victims.

Bilott’s efforts to prove the toxic pollution and diseases caused by Teflon maker DuPont inspired a movie, and a documentary, and resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements and compensation to victims. Bilott’s book exposes the outright collusion by regulatory authorities as the company continued pumping its toxic and persistent per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) “Forever Chemicals” into the world.

Both have books out:  Bilott’s book is “Exposure” and Gillam’s is the “Monsanto Papers”.
