You are in time to meet Chloe!!!- Earn a badge or maybe be chosen to head to Killarney
The newest GLOBE storybook "What in the World is happening to our Climate?" has illustrations by Lisa Gardiner and text by Becca Hatheway and Diane Stanitski. It has Simon, Dennis, Anita and issues related to California's snow pack and taking data measurements to understand and visualize what's happening round the globe. It's an example of hands on science and collaborative thinking developed as a systems based Elementary Science initiative under the National Science Foundation and UCAR.
This month Los Angeles and California schools can measure aerosols too! Join the Virtual Science Symposium by submitting data to earn badges, get your research reviewed, potentially head to Ireland by March 1 or capture and post data during the Aerosol campaign March-April 2018. Learn by doing and add STEM to your instruction and make understanding that will arch to the Common Core and Next Generation Science standards as well as enrich English Language Instruction with new tools and new layers of concepts, cognates, definitions and math. You can mobilize children, teens and parents as well as capture info from your area and send it in to study with children from France, Croatia and Mexico, The Netherlands, and 113 others.
Learn about aerosols, see how to use a sunphotometer and how your measurements can be connected to satellites!
