The end of the year always seems to bring about personal reflection. We think back on what we’ve done and look ahead to see what still needs to be accomplished. So too at Brady. We are proud of what we have accomplished this year, and are excited about the potential strides we can make with an incoming gun violence prevention majority in the House.

So in the spirit of reflection, here are some of our highlights in various areas of our work. Thank you to our many volunteers and supporters for your indefatigable assistance every step of the way. Here’s to an even more impactful 2019!

IMPACT AT THE POLLS

Thanks to Brady Chapter across the US and our youth movement, Team ENOUGH, 86% of Brady-endorsed candidates at the Federal level won at the polls, virtually ensuring that these newly elected champions will make gun violence prevention a top priority their first 100 days.

IMPACT IN THE COURTS

Almost half of the 23 cases Brady litigated in 2018 established critical legal precedent paving the way for future litigation on behalf of victims and survivors of gun violence.

IMPACT IN COMMUNITIES EXPERIENCING URBAN GUN VIOLENCE

Brady’s focus on crime guns in cities such as Milwaukee, Oakland, Stockton, and Chicago, to name a few, is uniting citizens, law enforcement and local government to close or reform those dealers who supply the criminal gun market.

IMPACT WHERE IT COUNTS - MAKING OUR HOMES, AND CHILDREN SAFER!

8 kids & teens are injured or killed every day by Family Fire.

Brady’s much acclaimed launch of the End Family Fire campaign in conjunction with the Ad Council on 8.8.18 is having unprecedented impact on how guns are stored in our homes. Based on monthly tracking studies, in the three months since its national release, this campaign has caused 7% of gun owners to store their firearms more securely in their homes and 50% of gun and non-gun owners to have conversations about safe storage.

WHY BRADY, WHY NOW?

No organization has a more comprehensive and systematic approach to ending America’s gun violence epidemic. Brady believes that Americans, working together, are more powerful than any problem and we invite those who feel the same way to join us in our work. We know our multi-pronged approach of education, litigation and legislation will ensure that one day, every American can live free from the fear of being shot. Join us in creating that America. It’s in our hands.
