'Bags and Bling' Champagne Luncheon Honors Kathy Ireland

Camarillo, CA  -  The second annual "Bags and Bling" Champagne Luncheon will take place Friday, November 5, 2010, at the Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo. The event begins at 11:45 AM with an amazing array of new, designer, and vintage handbags, jewelry and accessories available for purchase or through the silent auction.  Attendees also have the opportunity to get their photograph taken wearing "The Necklace," a diamond necklace made famous by a group of women called "The Jewelias" who are featured in a national bestselling book of the same name.

During the luncheon, Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Lynne West will present the "Wise, Wonderful Woman of the Year" Award to Kathy Ireland.  West says that Ireland was chosen for this honor because "as a business woman, philanthropist, designer, author, wife and mother, she is a wise and wonderful role model for our Little Sisters."

Forbes Magazine reports that kiWW® is a "design empire which grosses over one billion dollars annually in retail sales." kiWW® products include flooring, rugs, furniture, lighting, decorative accessories, window coverings, candles, bedding, mattresses, jewelry, fresh cut flowers, apparel and more.  kiWW® primary mission is "…finding solutions for families, especially busy moms."™

Diane Sabol, the "Bags and Bling" chairman, is looking forward to a spectacular afternoon, "Our Bags and Bling party was such a success last year and we are looking forward to outdoing ourselves. We have collected some spectacular pieces, true treasures that our guests will certainly enjoy!"   The Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo is one of Ventura County's premiere golfing destinations.  Sponsors of the "Bags and Bling" include Wells Fargo Bank and Central Coast Electric Boat Rentals.

Many different levels of sponsorship opportunities for "Bags and Bling" are still available. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or in purchasing tickets may contact Terri Felix, Big Brothers Big Sisters Director of Development, at 805-484-2282 x 23. All proceeds from the "Bags and Bling" champagne luncheon benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County. This year the organization celebrates 40 years of serving children in the Ventura County areas.  Their mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships between an adult volunteer and a child, with measurable results. A study conducted by Harris Interactive find that adults mentored as children through Big Brothers Big Sisters were: 75% more likely to have received a four-year college degree, 83% more likely to report being satisfied in their lives, and twice as likely to perceive themselves as being successful.  For more information about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County visit its website at www.bbsvc.org or call the office at (805) 484-2282.
