Richard Tyler can now consider himself a true “triple threat”, after receiving awards in speaking, writing, and filmmaking at the 2017 Thoughtleader® Summit & EXPY® Awards. The awards are given by the National Association of Experts, Writers, and Speakers® and were created to honor leading professionals from around the world who are committed to sharing their knowledge. Recipients were in attendance from North and South America, Asia and Europe. Many people were honored for their outstanding work; however, Tyler was the only person to win 3 awards that evening.
“Words cannot express how grateful I am. It was exciting to hear my name called, not once, not twice, but three times that night. I feel honored to be recognized for my work in writing, professional speaking and filmmaking”, Tyler said.
Tyler’s first accolade of the evening was the Writer EXPY® Award and it was given for his contribution to the book
Leadership Defined. This book is a collection of leadership lessons from some of America’s foremost leadership experts. The book is in an interview format with over twenty-four dynamic professionals offering their lessons on how to become a better leader. Tyler is a featured author along with General Alexander Haig, Dr. Warren Bennis, Jack Barry, Patricia Ball and Alan Keyes. The book has been wildly successful and is touted by many as one of the best resources out there on the topic.
The second award was given to Tyler for his Professional Speaking and Training Skills, specifically for his talk on Sales Excellence
at Palliser University. The program is a full-day talk given to retailers from the United States, Canada, and Mexico and features information that can be found from his best-selling book titled
Boom!. The book features Richard Tyler and Mark Victor Hansen, co-founder of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books. They are joined by the world’s leading entrepreneurs and professionals reveling their secrets to improving your health, wealth and lifestyle through their explosive techniques.
Tyler’s third award of the evening was a Media & Communications EXPY® Award. It was given for his work on
“Maximum Achievement The Brian Tracy Story”, which is a documentary on the world famous success coach
Brian Tracy. Tyler was an Executive Producer on the project. He says having the opportunity to be involved in the film meant so much to him because Tracy’s principals have had an impact on so many people’s lives, including his own.
The glamorous Black-tie, Red Carpet event was held this past September in Hollywood, California at the historic Roosevelt Hotel. Each beautiful silver statue EXPY® award was crafted by the same people who do the Oscar and Emmy awards.
This is not the first time Tyler’s received an EXPY® award. In 2016, he won a Media & Communications EXPY® for a Big Print piece in Forbes magazine. In 2015, he won an award for his work in television on the
Success Today TV show with celebrity host,
Bob Guiney.
Tyler says it’s not about the awards themselves. “Yes, winning is excellent, however I don’t do the work for the awards. My focus is on doing my part to help others become the best and most successful versions of themselves. Seeing people succeed in life is an award in itself. Recognition for success in that endeavor is icing on the cake.”
