Authors Meeting One-on-One with Literary Agents this Summer.

At the AuthorYOU Extravaganza located in Breckenridge, CO from August 23rd to August 26th authors will have the opportunity to pitch their manuscripts for the chance to get published. New York City Agents Jeff and Deborah Herman will teach them how to create a book proposal and how to find an agent for representation. In addition, authors will be able to meet with them one-on-one for the chance to pitch their book ideas.
Having Jeff and Deborah Herman represent a book is an exciting opportunity. Jeff and Deborah Herman are the authors of Write the Perfect Book Proposal and Jeff is the author of the annual Guide to Book Publishers, Editors, and Literary Agents. He has made 1,000 book deals; Deborah who is now the CEO and Publisher of Micro Publishing Media.
Attendees, will also have the chance to pitch their unpublished manuscript to a panel of judges at AuthorYOU's first ever Book Pitch Fest, sponsored by Thomson-Shore Inc. at the Extravaganza. The participants will only have three to five minutes to deliver their pitch to the judges. All ideas presented must be completed within the following twelve months, if selected as the winner.
According to Judith Briles, the CEO of AuthorYOU, "Know how to pitch a book, an idea, even the author is one of the essential tools all authors need. We will have a special session with Joan Stewart, the Publicity Hound and myself. Joan will focus on how to pitch the media; I will focus on agents and book buyers. Learning how to pitch is all about book marketing and promotion—whether it is a book already publishing or one that hasn't been."
Pitching is just one of the many opportunities at the AuthorYOU Extravaganza. At this four-day event, 15 publishing and book marketing experts will teach attendees the ins and outs of publishing and book marketing. A trade show is included where author service providers, such as book editors, cover and interior designers and book printers are available.
