Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Are You Results Oriented?

Although the blog question is, ‘Are You Results-Oriented?’ we need to take caution in not expecting an immediate outcome that meets our expectations. Most people in the business arena are results-oriented, but how one deals with the setbacks will determine their results.

Many possess the mindset of wanting their desired results to occur quickly, but that is far from reality. Those who surpass the obstacles learn to be patient and observant. They strive to do their best on behalf of their clientele.

My Story

My first sales job set the record straight for how we were to proceed. Salespeople are to meet specific sales numbers; if they don’t, harsh remarks come their way. On the other hand, when salespeople do meet their quota and exceed it, they are typically provided a nice monetary bonus. The sales quest is for each to be results-oriented no matter the situation.

What management and trainers do not prepare salespeople is that sales are rarely straightforward. Instead, one encounters bumps in the road of many types. Issues can include prospective clients saying, “I’m sorry it was supposed to be in the budget but…” or “We can only move forward if….”

The circumstances beg the question, ‘Are you results-oriented?’

The early lessons in my career enabled me to plow through the agony of beginning a business. Being results oriented was the motivating force for me to continue. Overwhelm hit upon realizing the learning necessary to continue forward. The necessary persistence with attention to detail paved the way for results beyond my expectations.

One differentiator I learned is always to share my best insights for others to improve their effort. Doing so launched me into groups for the better, plus I grew my networks. Accordingly, I exceeded my expectations and increased brand recognition and networks by being results-oriented. Being Entrepreneurial

Next, an unexpected invitation came my way to be a guest on the ‘Sell Like Her’ podcast hosted by Thilaga Kumar, which you may listen to by clicking this link.

Being results oriented, Thilaga also broke through barriers in her native India. Wanting more than only to stay home and serve her family, she built a remarkable career to become a best-selling author. Her website reveals that she is India’s only 2nd Author and 1st Author from Southern India to write a book on Sales – Cumulative Selling.

Your Story: Are You Results Oriented?

Having a vision board is a common theme among many. But the differentiator for a few is to have a plan of action accompanying the grand vision. Remaining in the game of business despite the hurdles in your way requires being results oriented.

Should disappointment be yours if you decide to quit, give due thought to why that might be. And if you realize a downward trend to follow, then now is the time to pick up the broken pieces, fix them, and move beyond. Create a plan for the vision you see and the results you wish to attain. Include in your plan goals of all types, including short-term, mid-term, and long-range ones you want to achieve.

Upon creating your list of desirable goals, there is little doubt that motivation and excitement will soon follow. One caution is to recognize that barriers will arise as times change. Be willing to embrace flexibility to carry on to be results oriented.

In Conclusion: Are You Results Oriented?

The benefit to being or becoming results oriented is that we suddenly are in the company of people who think similarly. And accordingly, more opportunities arise to support one another, grow our networks, and ultimately receive surprising offers that otherwise will never be available.
