Apology Letter Examples

Offering up an apology is never easy, in part because it's hard to find the right words no matter how sincere one's regret. The website ApologyLetters.net offers nearly 300 apology letter templates to jump-start the process.

"The samples at ApologyLetters.net can help individuals and businesses find the right words for a variety of personal and professional missteps," explained Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "I recently added 24 new templates to the site."

The new sample letters range from simple to very serious. There's wording for workplace apologies along with public apologies for political misdeeds including assault and embezzlement. Most of the templates, however, deal with more common apology letter needs such as regret for inconveniencing a customer or sadness at hurting a friend's feelings.

Other sample letters address personal misbehavior, faux pas, or causing pain. The site has apologies for: snooping, bringing up a taboo subject, laziness, ignoring someone and not taking someone at their word. Some of the letter templates include proposals for making things right, such as offering to avoid someone or promising to seek therapy. There's also a new addition to the child and teen apologies category specifically addressing social media use.

ApologyLetters.net complements the selection of free example letters at its sister sites. There are hardship letter templates at LetterOfHardship.net, cover letters at CoverLetterExamples.net and character reference letters at CharacterReferenceLetters.com.

The letters at ApologyLetters.net are free for personal use. Users can simply cut and paste the wording from the site or download an editable DOC file that opens in Microsoft Words or other compatible programs.

"People are welcome to use the letters as-is for their apology needs," Savetz said. "But really, they're best used as a starting point to craft a letter that suits their situation."

There are nearly 100 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
