Dan Milstein, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group in Ann Arbor and author of the bestselling book The ABC of Sales will receive an honorary doctorate degree in Business Science from Cleary University.

Milstein will also present the keynote address at Cleary University's June 2, 2012 commencement to be held at Cleary University's Livingston County campus.

"While Dan Milstein is one of many successful Cleary University alumni, he is unique among them! Dan is a role model for the ethical treatment of customers in an industry where many are tempted to take shortcuts," said Cleary University President Tom Sullivan.

"Dan is very high energy; my role model for multi-tasking; a highly effective manager, supervisor, and business owner; a prolific writer; a generous and kind soul who loves his alma mater; and importantly a colleague and a friend. Dan is evidence of the relationship between the work put into a collegiate education and the benefit derived from it," said Sullivan.

Past recipients of honorary degrees from Cleary University include Alvin Bentley, Dollie Cole, Ira G. Kaufman, Thomas Giles Kavanagh, G. Mennen Williams, Carl D. Pursell, Gilbert E. Bursley, Philip E. Runkel, Thomas S. Monaghan, William D. Ford, Martha W. Griffiths, Frank D. Stella, Jack R. Lousma, Neil Shine, Candice Miller, David Brandon, and Richard DeVries.

"This honor will stand as one of the proudest moments for me and my family," said Milstein. "As I know I would not have been able to achieve the level of success that I have today without the skills and lessons that I learned during my studies at Cleary. Our school gave the right tools to someone with humble beginnings, and out of that grew a business that serves people all across the United States," he added.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Milstein and his family relocated to the United States after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. He received his education with honors in business management and graduated with a BBA from Cleary University.

In March of 2012 Milstein's award winning book, The ABC of Sales http://www.ABCofSales.com recorded its 10,000th sale and became the #1 Sales Book on Amazon and the 31st top seller of all ebook sales. The ABC of Sales won first place in the General Non-Fiction category of the (DIY) Book Festival in Los Angeles and first place at the Paris, France Book Festival as well as an honorable mention in the prestigious New England Book Fair and San Francisco Book Festival.

Daniel Milstein is Founder, President and CEO of Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group, an Inc. 500 company.
