Global communications firm Allison+Partners has expanded its footprint in Asia with the addition of a new office in Seoul, Korea.

The MDC Partners unit’s new Seoul outpost marks the agency’s 11th office in the Asia-Pacific region. It comes as a result of a strategic partnership developed between three Seoul-based PR firms: technology agency M&K PR; healthcare agency MOS Communications; and SMC, which specialties in automotive, industrial and consumer goods as well as government relations.

M&K was formed two years ago when SMC merged with Seoul-based shop MIN Communications.

Those three agencies now converge to form Allison+Partners Korea, a full-service communications agency that will focus on communications consulting, media relations, digital PR and marketing for consumer and B2B clients.

“Opening an office in Seoul was a logical next step to our development in the Asia-Pacific region,." Jonathan Heit, Allison+Partners co-founder and global president, told O’Dwyer’s. “Korea is the 12th largest economy in the world and home to dynamic global leaders, particularly in the technology sector. We have been active in the market for years, but felt it was important to have boots on the ground to better serve our global client base.."

The three agencies’ leaders will now jointly head A+P’s Korea location. M&K founder, CEO and managing director Mina Jeong joins A+P as managing director, technology and B2B. Moscomm’s Jacklin Kim will serve as managing director, healthcare and life. Former SMC CEO Yong-Ro Yoon will serve as managing director, consumer and industry.

San Francisco-headquartered Allison+Partners now maintains 30 offices worldwide.
