Accenture brings on Robert Cresanti, who was undersecretary for technology and chief privacy officer at the US Department of Commerce during the George W. Bush administration, to lead the company’s government relations activities in North America and serve as head of its global government relations network.

Cresanti most recently served as president and chief executive officer at the International Franchise Association, which represents more than 1,400 brands, including many restaurants and hotels. Before that, he was vice president, communications and public policy at computer software company SAP.

He has also held staff positions in both the US Senate and House of Representatives, and served on the board of directors of the Public Affairs Council and Information Technology Industry Council.

“Robert brings a deep understanding of navigating complex legislative issues,” said Accenture general counsel and corporate secretary Joel Unruch. “His unique combination of skills and expertise, particularly in the technology sector, will serve us very well.”
