AUSTIN, TX-- Earlier this month, The Association of Professional Futurists (APF), which recognizes the credentials of futurists worldwide, appointed Prateeksha Singh as one of its three new board members. In addition to her board responsibilities, Singh will be joining the Finance Committee.

Singh has been an APF member since 2016 and became more involved while volunteering with the 15th year anniversary Gathering in Seattle in 2017.

"Apart from contributing to the Finance Committee, I am deeply passionate and excited about bolstering APF's representation of multi-cultural views in the foresight/futures profession, and the diversity (from geography to disciplines, cultures and viewpoints) that our international membership represents. I am so appreciative of this opportunity to serve."

A Certified Public Accountant (US), Singh brings with her an interdisciplinary background and is currently completing her Masters in Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) at the University in Toronto. She is a relatively new entrant in the foresight field but brings with her experience working in Corporate, Non-profit, Start-up, Social enterprise, and Academia. Singh is a freelancer, working on a wide range of design thinking, service design and foresight projects centered around climate reality, gender, feminist praxis, healthcare, and food.

She has been involved in a number of collaboratively created immersive design fiction theatrical pieces that allow for a multi-sensory experiential manifestation of a possible future scenario and, through these pieces opening the door to engage in richer and broader public discourse about complex social issues, such a climate change, and their systemic implications.

Her work output, solo and collaborative, takes form in a variety of ways from facilitated discussions, workshops, experiential installations, photography to written papers; these have appeared in leading publications, radio and digital channels, conferences, and art shows, such as The Current Oncology Journal, Buzzfeed, Stanford Medicine X, and Nuit Blanche Toronto 2017.

THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL FUTURISTS is a global community of futurists advancing professional foresight. Our credentialed members help stakeholders anticipate and influence the future. https://www.apf.org
