This spring through fall, don't be surprised if you see something that reminds you of yesteryear's milk delivery truck driving through the streets of Southern Maryland.

A Taste of Southern Maryland (CSA) offers  farm shares by subscription at www.tasteofsomd.com.  Harvest permitting, beginning the week of 7 April, harvest shares will arrive on doorsteps throughout the region.

"A Taste of Southern Maryland is an exciting project and one that I am passionate about.  I firmly believe good local food should not be a remote experience or something people save for vacation days and the harvest season," said Ronda Goldman, TSM'S chief architect.

Goldman continued, "There is so much rich agricultural history in this area and a wealth of local people growing, raising, and creating quality natural products right here in Southern Maryland.  My vision is to connect those farmers' fields with the front doors of Southern Maryland's residents."

Goldman went on, "The realities of work and school schedules along with extra-curricular activities can make enjoying fresh, local, fair an exotic privilege instead of an expected normality.  A Taste of Southern Maryland solves this problem.  We bring the food to you."

Full shares sell for $55 each week and comprise ten pounds of fresh produce along with meat and dairy  gift card.  Half shares are $35 and contain five pounds of the same or similar products.  For those seeking a more comprehensive local food solution, the ingredients for three meals in a dinner box are available at a cost of $80 per week.  All shares will be shipped to your doorstep.

Local chefs will provide tutorials via online cooking shows and community feasts such as a summer barbecue and a fall crab feast will provide ample opportunities to celebrate the local harvest.

For more information about purchasing shares, corporate accounts, or producer partnerships, contact Ronda Goldman.
