This Sunday, March 8, marks International Women’s Day – a day solely focused on encouraging people of all countries and backgrounds to create a gender-equal world.
According to the UN Women website, “We want to mobilize to end gender-based violence; we are calling for economic justice and rights for all; bodily autonomy, sexual and reproductive health and rights; and feminist action for climate justice. We want technology and innovation for gender equality; and feminist leadership.” Now who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
These five spots will make you cheer for women everywhere and shows the value we bring to specific industries and the world at large – hopefully inspiring leaders and individuals to act on issues that would bring about a more equitable society.

UN Women’s “We are #GenerationEquality”

This video from the United Nations shows footage from around the world and through the decades of women standing up for gender equality, illustrating how “the fight for equal rights has collectively defined our lives and we must take action together to achieve it.”

Apple’s “Behind the Mac”

This spot features women who are making a difference in their fields – and using a Mac to make it happen. As Beyoncé plays in the background, we see photos of activists like Gloria Steinem, Malala Yousafzai and Tarana Burke, actresses Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks, ground-breaking directors Ava Durvenay and Greta Gerwig, soccer star Megan Rapinoe and many others. Whether they’re at home or at work, these women never stop in their pursuit of equality for all.

Netflix’s “Because She Watched”

There’s nothing better than a good montage – and this one highlighting strong female characters in Netflix’s original shows and films is gold. Narrated by “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” actress Lana Candor, the ad shows the power TV and movies have, making women feel represented and seen.
After you watch the video, check out the “Because She Watched” collection of series, documentaries and films at Netflix, curated by female creators from around the world.

Cotton Inc. and The Great’s “Rosie the Riveter Reborn”

As a tribute to the courageous women who have made history through their work, The Great and Cotton Inc. have come together to recreate “The Rosie Jumpsuit.” Customers can purchase the limited-edition jumpsuit, while also learning about six “modern-day Rosies,” including World Cup Champion Carli Lloyd, famed metal artist Barbie the Welder and Black Girls Code founder Kimberly Bryant.

Mindspace’s “Can You Solve the Riddle?”

Mindspace may be known for their beautiful co-working spaces, but this riddle experiment they conducted will have everyone talking. The answer to this head-scratcher isn’t revealed until the end, so you’ll have time to try and figure it out – hint: don’t let your unconscious bias get the best of you.
