Martin Luther King Jr. is celebrated for countless things: being an unwavering leader during the Civil Rights Movement, writing and delivering speeches with grace and elegance, and inspiring people around the world to stop the hate and come together for the sake of humanity. This MLK Day, we’re inspired to put words into action.
Check out these four opportunities below where you can give back and make a difference in your community.
1. Meals on Wheels
One in four seniors lives alone in isolation, and many of those seniors can no longer provide or prepare food for themselves. Meals on Wheels is a nationwide organization that partners with volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in need. Sign up
here to drop off a meal and say hello to seniors in your community.

2. Habitat for Humanity
In 2017, Habitat for Humanity helped 3.5 million people improve their housing conditions. What better way to hone in on your handyman or handywoman skills than by helping build shelter for those who need it most. Not only do they offer worldwide opportunities, but there are local efforts who need help, too. Find your local Habitat for Humanity organization

3. National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
64% of Americans say disaster preparation is very important. Over the past year, the nation and the world has experienced devastating natural disasters. After a city, state, or country weathers a natural disaster together, there’s a sense of community and a desire to help.
Although FEMA, the sponsor of our Emergency Preparedness campaign doesn’t have volunteer opportunities, the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster offers searchable opportunities to volunteer in the U.S. and around the world. Visit their

4. Feeding America
More than 46 million people turn to Feeding America each year. From children to seniors, food insecurity and hunger affects all ages. Find out how you can help a local soup kitchen, food pantry, or community meal program
