Press Release from the Institute of Management Consultants, DFW Chapter - Event July 13, 2018

Persuade Prospects with a Story

Dallas, TX – Courting new clients? Great stories propel proposed solutions to business problems.

"New client acquisition" was the top issue named in a 2018 DFW poll of senior, mid-career and novice consultants to management. Consultants at this round table will explore how solutions they propose to clients' business problems can receive better response when they're part of a story with a purpose. The Consultant's Workshop convenes at the Telos Club in Dallas, Friday, July 13, 7:30 A.M.

Henry DeVries, author, editor and consultant to consultants, leads the discussion. Prior to co-founding Indie Books International in 2014, Henry served as assistant dean for continuing education at the University of California, San Diego. Build your Consulting Practice is his most recent book. A former AP sportswriter, he has just three major league ball parks to visit before he "touches 'em all."

Consultants at recent round tables pondered the use of networking, referrals and testimonials as tools to help acquire new clients, all in a safe space to share and get feedback. This interactive workshop places clients at the center of the story and drives home why storytelling persuades when logic flees.

The DFW Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants supports the management consulting community in North Texas, neighboring regions and adjacent states. The Consultant's Workshop meets monthly to help consultants grow their practice.
