The website LetterOfHardship.net has added even more
hardship letter templates for a wide variety of personal, academic and professional situations.
The 10-year-old site now has 351 templates, each free to download, customize and print.
"I started LetterOfHardship.net as a way to help people find the right words to advocate for themselves in difficult situations," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator.
The sample wording provides a jump-start in crafting a letter. Users simply type into a template to edit it.
The newest batch of additions includes several letters relating to having jury duty excused or postponed if someone truly can't serve. The templates cover situations such as: pregnancy, a newborn, scheduling conflicts, medical issues and being away at college.
LetterOfHardship.net also has new letters for college students, such as a tuition payment plan request, a meal plan waiver letter, a letter about allergy issues, and requests for extensions on paying deposits and other academic fees.
Plus, even more letters related to mortgages and renting have been added. One of them addresses leases in relation to pet ownership.
Other new letters at the site cover: rate increases, late payments, membership fees, IRA and 403b hardship withdrawals and various fee waivers.
LetterOfHardship.net also has letters related to the pandemic, court appearances, appeals and other hardships.
"Everything at LetterOfHardship.net is free for personal use," Savetz reiterated.
Each template downloads easily in DOC format, or users can simply cut and paste the text directly from the site. Plus, there are several articles with tips on how to write a hardship letter. Site users should be sure to consult an attorney if needed, as the letter templates are no substitute for legal advice.
