The American Association for Critical Illness Insurance announced an agreement for Unified Life Insurance Company to serve as the exclusive provider of insurance advertised to consumers on the organization's website.

"We are very proud of their commitment to offer easy access to affordable cancer-only and critical illness insurance coverage," states Jesse Slome, director of the critical illness insurance organization.

The Association recently announced it would undertake consumer awareness efforts.  "There are now over 150 Millennials and GenXers and few are aware of their risk or the ensuing financial consequences," Slome notes.  "Their needs are so dramatically different from prior generations.  Life insurance is no longer the greater need for these generations. It's going to be replaced by cancer and critical illness insurance."

As part of the arrangement, an advertisement linking directly to the Unified Life website will be featured on the Association's website.  "Consumers can get instant cost quotes for six coverage options, three cancer-only and three critical illness," Slome explains.  "If they choose to apply, they can do so right online."

According to AACII around five million Americans currently have some form of critical illness insurance protection.  "The market for this protection are working-age men and women between ages 40 and 55," Slome explains.  "Its coverage to have in place during your working years when the financial consequences of a critical illness are substantial."

Slome recommends homeowners consider a modest amount of coverage to replace lost income while one undergoes treatment and recovery.  "Our recommended formula is between six and 18 months of rent or mortgage payments," he adds.  "Somewhere between $10,000 and $25,000 is both affordable and very likely all one will need."

The American Association for Critical Illness Insurance (AACII) advocates for the importance of planning and supports insurance professionals who market critical illness insurance products.  Visit the Association's website at www.criticalillnessinsuranceinfo.org or call 818-597-3205 to learn more.
