Vonda Pelto, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist and author of Without Remorse: The Story of the Woman Who Kept Los Angeles' Serial Killers Alive, spent over three years, 1979 to 1982, keeping a notorious collection of serial killers engaged and lives at L.A. Men's Central Jail while awaiting trial.
The suicide of Vernon Butts, one of the Trash Bag Murderers, has prompted health authorities to bring in Vonda, who was getting her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the time, to work with a real scary bunch of serial killers.
Vonda's office was right in the heart of where men like Hillside Strangler Kenneth Bianchi, Sunset Strip killer Douglas Clark, Freeway Killer William and others were housed. They would wander in to chat at all hours of the day and the conversation often involved how and why they murdered their victims.
