The Colorado Cleantech Industry Association Announces Its Three-part Smart Grid, Technology and Colorado Series

The Colorado Cleantech Industry Association (CCIA) will be offering a three-part series this fall called "Smart Grid, Technology and Colorado." Smart grid technologies hold the potential to dramatically decrease energy consumption, reduce peak loads and tap Colorado's abundant renewable resources. When fully integrated, these technologies will fundamentally change the way we create, deliver and use energy. 

Denver, CO, September 23, 2009 – The Colorado Cleantech Industry Association (CCIA) will be offering a three-part series this fall, "Smart Grid, Technology and Colorado." The announcement is made by Christine Shapard, founding Executive Director of the CCIA who says, "We are pleased to announce the kickoff session in our series, Smart Grid: The Vision, on Wednesday, September 30, 7:30 a.m., at the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce offices." 

Colorado is a unique center of excellence for smart grid deployments, research expertise and public-private collaborations. Smart grid technologies hold the potential to dramatically decrease energy consumption, reduce peak loads and tap Colorado's abundant renewable resources. When fully integrated, these technologies will fundamentally change the way we create, deliver and use energy.  Join the CCIA to hear from the technology leaders whose vision is driving the smart grid revolution.

Session One on September 30 is hosted by Fairfield and Woods, P.C., and includes:

* Keynote Speaker:   Luke Clemente, General Manager, Smart Grid, General Electric Corporation

* Moderator:   Peter Edwards, Fairfield and Woods, P.C.

* Panelists:   John LoPorto, CEO, PowerTagging

      Carl Lawrence, CEO, EEtrex (formerly Hybrids Plus)

      Adrian Tuck, CEO, Tendril Networks

      Dick DeBlasio, Principal Laboratory Program Manager, NREL

Subsequent sessions in the series are scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, and Tuesday, November 10. A breakfast buffet is provided at each of the sessions.
