TERRORISTS & SERIAL KILLERS TREATED BETTER THAN TERRI SCHIAVO!

"Starvation is not a pretty picture," M.D. explains.

Los Angeles, California) Got compassion? Apparently not enough in the Florida courtroom of Judge Greer, who has sentenced Terri Schiavo to death, beginning this Friday, March 18, 2005. " 'Beginning' is the key word here -- since taking away her feeding tube will not kill her instantly," explains Carole Lieberman, M.D.

"It is not like disconnecting someone from a respirator or giving them a lethal injection – both of which kill quasi-painlessly. But death from starvation and dehydration is slow and painful!"

According to Dr. Lieberman, a Board Certified psychiatrist on the Clinical Faculty of UCLA Medical Center, Terri, who has been erroneously described in sound-bites as being in a coma, will suffer tremendously. "When the body is starved it has to 'eat itself' in order to provide energy to continue vital functions. Weight loss can reach 50%, meaning Terri will become a living skeleton. Eventually, her heart and lungs will fail – unless she is first overcome by infection due to compromised immunity," says Dr. Lieberman. "Total starvation is generally fatal in 8-12 weeks. By denying Terri water as well, she would die sooner – perhaps within 2 weeks, after anxiety, seizures, falling blood pressure, confusion and coma. Two weeks is a long time to suffer"

Not only is Dr. Lieberman concerned about Terri's suffering, but about the wrong person being 'punished' for her being in this state. Having interviewed Terri's father on her radio show ("Dr. Carole's Couch" on voiceamerica.com), Dr. Lieberman uncovered the fact that Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, fit the profile of a wife-abuser. At Terri's father's request, she put her opinion in writing so that the family could provide it to their attorneys, Governor Jeb Bush and Florida DCFS – who are investigating the possibility (supported by medical records and witnesses) that Michael Schiavo may well be the one responsible for Terri being in her current state. Even offers of $1 million were not enough for Michael to take the risk of Terri being around 'to talk'. "Unless this travesty of justice is stopped, the answer will truly lie where the bones are buried," warns Dr. Lieberman.
