A Michigan dentist is reaching out to laid-off workers and others impacted by the recession by offering high quality dental implant and bone grafting procedures for at least 50% off the regular prices.

Dr. Timothy Kosinski, DDS of Novi, is offering financially strapped individuals who cannot afford necessary dental implant surgery the chance to save $2,000 by volunteering to be patients for a national dental implant training program.

A leading dental educator, Dr. Kosinski also teaches bone grafting courses twice a year and will provide bone grafts at 50% off for patients who volunteer for a bone graft procedure for one of his training sessions.

Dr. Timothy Kosinski, who operates SmileCreator of Bingham Farms, Michigan, is the only dentist in Michigan selected to provide patients for general dentists licensed in Michigan who are being trained to conduct dental implant surgery.

The program is being conducted jointly in Michigan by Dr. Kosinski and the nationally renowned Dr. Todd B. Engel and the Ladera Ranch Implant Institute in California. Participating dentists will be trained for two days and then on the third day will perform an actual dental implant on patients who volunteer at the SmileCreator office.

A retired General Motors executive drove all the way from Petoskey, MI to the SmileCreator of Bingham Farms to save money on a dental implant because he was losing his dental insurance in eight months.

The program has been so popular that Dr. Kosinski is now working Saturdays, for the first time in 12 years, to keep up with patient demand at a time when other dentists are losing business.

"I am looking for individuals who need a dental implant and would be interested in having the procedure done by a "student dentist" under the supervision of a highly-trained Ladera Ranch mentoring dental surgeon," says Dr. Kosinski. "This is a great opportunity for anyone who is financially strapped at this time but still requires dental implants"

Dr. Kosinski will evaluate dental implant candidates to see if they meet the specific requirements to be part of the Ladera Ranch training surgeries to be held June 11-13, 2009

Participants will be charged only $699 for all relevant x-rays, the surgical guide, surgical placement and abutment – a savings of $2,000! The fee does not include fabricating the final crown, a temporary flipper or transitional crown, or CT scanning if required. The final crown, placed personally by Dr. Kosinski, will be discounted to $997 which is a savings of $583.

The average cost of dental implants in Michigan is $4,400. Patients volunteering for dental implant training will pay only $1,700 or a reduced fee of $2,995 if they don't qualify for the Ladera program.

Dental implants are an ideal solution for anyone missing one or several teeth or are having problems wearing dentures. The implants and overdentures placed by Dr. Kosinski are far superior to conventional dentures which often make chewing, talking, kissing and laughing difficult.

Created in 2004 by D. Engel, the Ladera Ranch Implant Institute has gained national notoriety for its unique style of teaching and clinical results. The philosophy behind the instructive over-the-shoulder mentoring is to guide the attending dental practitioner, step-by-step, through the entire implant procedure with a personal coach by their side and by using an actual implant patient,

The bone graft training conducted by Dr. Kosinski teaches general dentists how to graft bone building material to preserve the socket when a tooth is pulled. "When teeth are removed the bone naturally shrinks," explains Dr. Kosinski, "By preserving the bone and socket by preventing shrinkage, we can do future treatments such as implants without rebuilding lost bone, which would then be very expensive"

Patients who volunteer for bone grafting or implants will agree to be photographed and videotaped. "There is no experimental work involved here at all," stresses Kosinski. "This is all high-quality work using high-end products and the best in technology. Just because people are in financial need now does not mean they should not have the highest quality dental care possible. After all, how can you find a decent job if your teeth look bad? I am doing this to give back to my community"
