25 Years of Lotto Advice from Gail HowardAmerica's lottery expert teaches us about 'smart luck' Booms and busts in the economy come and go, but there is always a bull market in lottery tickets. Where else can a $1 investment be magically transformed into millions of dollars overnight? The Internet has recently exploded with sellers of lottery "ebook" tip sheets and lotto software, each one clamoring that his product is the best. There remains one lottery expert who has been dispensing calm, sensible advice for 25 years: Gail Howard. Howard personifies the proverb: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity" She became "America's original lottery expert -- the pioneer of scientific lottery strategy in the USA" in 1983, when only four states had the lotto game, including her home state of New York. Howard's Smart Luck lottery systems had an unusual start: She began her career in numbers as a successful stock broker, then as a commodity futures trader and licensed commodities trading advisor. She used her Wall Street skills and her fascination with games of chance, to focus on creating winning lottery systems. "I used charting and technical analysis to help make investment decisions," Howard recalls. "At various times, I watched the markets react, sometimes moving up and sometimes down, to an identical piece of news. I began to wonder if market movement was really a random walk rather than based on supply and demand. In 1982, I decided to chart the most random of events, the lottery. I found that randomly drawn numbers formed the same patterns with the same degree of predictability that my stocks and commodities had. With this exciting discovery, I knew I was on to something significant about winning lotteries" Around this time, Howard was named "Chartist of the Year" by Commodity Perspective, Knight Ridder's Chicago-based futures charting service. She predicted the closing price of seven different commodities two weeks into the future: S&P500 Index, Eurodollar, Treasury Bonds, Crude Oil, Comex-Gold, Corn and Live Cattle. Howard won this honor five times in seven years. "I became obsessed with analyzing lottery numbers in every possible way I could think of," she says. "In an effort to discover just what made winning lotto numbers win, I devoted an entire year to this unpaid full-time occupation. "My friends and family did not understand my obsession and persistently urged me to give up 'this lottery foolishness' and use my abilities in a more constructive way," she continues. "As the months passed and my passion only increased, I was accused of throwing away an entire year of earnings. I needed a legitimate reason for spending so much time on 'this lottery foolishness.' Also, I was eager to share my discoveries with other lottery enthusiasts. So, in March 1983, I began writing a weekly column for a New York paper. People started winning with my systems, and word spread. I was approached by a marketing company to write a book. Howard's current books include "Lotto Winning Wheels for Powerball & MEGA Millions," "Lotto How to Wheel a Fortune," "Lotto Wheel Five to Win," "Lottery Master Guide" and "Lottery Winning Systems" Her first book was "State Lotteries: How to Get In It and How to Win It," published in 1985. More than two million copies of this special report were sold by mail. Howard's lottery books are sold all over the world, including foreign language editions translated into Spanish, French, German, Norwegian, Latvian, Korean, Japanese, Mao Chinese and traditional Chinese. Howard began formally advising on lotto games 25 years ago. Gail Howard's Smart Luck Publishers (selling lottery books) has been in business since 1983. Her Smart Luck Software (selling lottery software) has been in business since 1988. The Gail Howard Smart Luck Lottery Books and Lotto Software Web site, www.smartluck.com, has been active online since January 1997 -- a year before the search engine Google made its debut. "I do not make wild, misleading tabloid-style claims but deal only in verifiable truth," Howard says. "In an effort to help you win, www.smartluck.com provides loads of free helpful advice on how best to play your favorite lottery game -- also free interactive lotto wheels that have already won first prize jackpots" Today, Howard is "internationally recognized as the creator of the most successful lottery systems used in the world today," she says. She also claims to have the only lottery systems that have been credited with winning dozens of first prize lottery lotto jackpots. To date, 101 documented first prize lotto jackpot winners have won a combined total of $100,980,707 with Gail Howard's lottery wheels and lotto number selection strategies. The lottery advantage of using Gail Howard's Balanced Lotto Wheels is that when you win, you can beat the odds many times and win several prizes with just one lotto wheel played, she says. For example, in one drawing, Howard won one 2nd prize plus four 3rd prizes and two 4th prizes in New York's pick-6 lotto game with the winning tickets shown above. She beat the odds of one chance in 30,961 to win a second prize once. She also beat the odds of one chance in 669 four times -- and beat the odds of one chance in 42 twice. All of those wins resulted from a $19 lottery wheel played one time. "That is like being seated in Yankee Stadium when it is half filled --- and, out of that crowd, being the only winner," she says. "When jackpots are won with my lottery systems, it gives me enormous pleasure to hear from my winners," Howard says. "In fact, the success of my jackpot winners is the force that drives me to create new and better ways to win lotto. Their success is my success" Documentation of Gail Howard's jackpot winners consists of more than 400 pages of letters from the lotto jackpot winners (using her systems), copies of their jackpot winning tickets, checks and/or congratulatory letters from the lottery, lottery press releases, and magazine and newspaper articles. Most of it is posted on the Gail Howard Web site. Newspapers across the country have called Howard "the lottery guru," "the nation's best known lottery system creator" and "the nation's leading lottery handicapper" She has been featured or quoted in articles in such major magazines and newspapers as Newsweek, U.S.News & World Report, Playboy, Real Simple, Family Circle, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Newsday, New York Daily News, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, Houston Chronicle, Washington Post and Shanghai Evening Post. Howard's remarkable track record in helping people win big money in lotto has led to appearances on hundreds of radio and TV shows, including The Today Show and Good Morning America. Or you may have seen Gail Howard's half hour Lottery Busters infomercial that aired every day for over a year on cable TV. Howard herself has written articles for many national magazines, including Family Circle. In the 1980s, Howard was lottery editor for Gambling Times magazine, wrote and published Lottery Advantage, as well as writing the newsletter Lottery Buster. She has written a weekly lottery column for 25 years for New York Lotto News. As for Howard's techniques, tactics and strategies, she begins by saying, "You need more than just dumb luck to win the lottery. You need valid Smart Luck lotto strategies to help you beat the lotteries' long shot odds. You can apply skill to the lotto game because you can choose the numbers you play. By studying lotto analysis charts, you can pick lottery numbers that have a greater probability of winning. As in card games that combine chance and skill, the skillful lotto player enjoys an advantage over the unskilled player -- and wins lotto prizes far more frequently" Howard teaches about "Lotto Game Selection," "Lotto Number Selection" and "Lotto Balanced Wheels" "Game selection is simply choosing to play the lotto game with the lowest odds -- which means the game with the smallest number field," she says. "Lottery number selection involves choosing the most winning lottery numbers which have the best chance of being drawn," Howard continues. "Many people would not bet a bundle on a horse without first studying its past performance. Handicapping means studying the past in an effort to project the future. Wall Street analysts do the same thing. They chart stocks, bonds and commodities, studying past price action to determine future price trends to reduce the odds against the investor. "I have carefully analyzed the lottery drawing results of more than 170 different lotto games worldwide with histories going back as far as 1955," she says. "I have verified the following incredibly simple rule: That which is most possible happens most often; that which is least possible happens least often. "So, the basis of my lottery strategy is to play the probabilities--or, to play that which is most likely to happen," Howard explains. "For example, six consecutive numbers (such as 1-2-3-4-5-6) have never been drawn in any state or international lotto game. It is highly unlikely that if it has never happened before, it will happen this week just because you put your money on it. My common sense lottery formula tells you not to play six consecutive numbers on one game panel. "Many people play a lotto number because they think it's due," she continues. "They have the mistaken notion that in lotto, everything has to even out. That simply is not true. In New York, lotto number 45 sat out 100 drawings without a single win. I have seen many lotto games in which a lotto number has gone more than 70 drawings without a hit. "Balanced lottery wheels give your money more leverage and dramatically improve your chances of winning," she says. "They are the most important tools a lottery player can use to get immediate odds improvement. These lottery systems allow you to choose a large group of lotto numbers which are placed in a scientifically determined lotto pattern on your bet slips to give you a specific win guarantee. "If you trap the six (five or four winning lottery numbers) in the large group of lotto numbers you have chosen, you are guaranteed to win at least one prize," Howard says. "But you could win several prizes, or even the first prize jackpot--as dozens of my big lottery winners already have," says lottery expert Gail Howard, who invites us to check her Web site, www.smartluck.com, for details. She often hears from jackpot winners who used her systems to win -- in fact, every single year since 1985 through 2008 has brought a jackpot winner forward to thank Gail Howard . Of course, newspapers enjoy a lottery winner, too. Here are just two of many reports about lotto jackpot winners helped by Howard: "Jim Shivley won $9.48 million in the California State Lottery last August, using a 'wheeling' system devised by Gail Howard. The system, says Shivley, helped him reduce his odds. Willy Richey is another winner who swears by Howard's system. 'I don't play unless I use the system,' says Richey, who last year won $1.2 million in the Michigan lottery" -- New York Daily News "Gail Howard is the nation's leading lottery handicapper. Leavelle Carter . . . and Sherry Jaynes . . . both won big jackpots by using Miss Howard's system. Mr. Carter bet $13 and won $606,023 in the D.C. Lotto game; Mrs. Jaynes hit a $13.8-million jack-pot in the New York state lottery . . . On Aug. 2, an Indiana couple hit the Canadian lottery for $516,000. Two days later, 16 co-workers at a Miller Brewing plant in Clay, N.Y., split more than $1.4 million. All used Miss Howard's system" - The Washington Times "I always love to hear from my lotto jackpot winners and to share their joy -- especially when they contact me right after their win," Howard says. "We both get excited and pumped up. It's a happy business I am in" "When I was a stockbroker, my job was to help people earn money," she concludes. "My mission is still the same except that now my lottery books and lotto software help people win money" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- © 2008 Gail Howard.
