This Thanksgiving, Be Thankful if You Have a Faithful Mate
New, NY
Tuesday, November 25, 2008
This Thanksgiving, anyone whose spouse or significant other isn't cheating on them has a lot to be thankful for. Infidelity expert Ruth Houston points out that faithful mates are in short supply.
Houston, the founder of www.InfidelityAdvice.com and the author of Is He Cheating on You? – 829 Telltale Signs, says, "Infidelity has reached epidemic proportions. Some form of infidelity -- emotional infidelity, internet infidelity, same-sex infidelity, workplace infidelity, female infidelity -- now affects 80% of all marriages and committed relationships today. Studies and statistics bear that out" Infidelity Studies Confirm that Most People Cheat Houston, a nationally-recognized infidelity expert who is frequently called on by the media to comment on infidelity issues in the news, says, ,"This year alone, medical journals published 3 separate studies which revealed that happy husbands cheat too, and even good marriages are susceptible to infidelity. Unfortunately, faithful mates are few and far between" Other statistics also confirm that people who honor their marriage vows are now the exception rather than the rule. Houston, who has been researching infidelity for over 15 years, cites statistics from several other infidelity studies below: • 50% to 70% of men cheat on their mates • female infidelity has increased 50% in the past 10 years • In one study, 70% of married women and 54% of married men whose spouses were cheating had no idea their partner was having an affair. • In another study, 60% of those who admitted to cheating, said their partner did not know about their affair. False Assumptions About Having a Faithful Mate Most people who are married or in a committed relationship automatically assume their partner is faithful. But as the statistics above indicate, only a small percentage of those in relationships can truthfully make that claim. Still the Last to Know "I find it disturbing that in this day and age, the innocent infidelity victim is still the last to know," says Houston, whose popular book tells how to spot the signs of infidelity. "Especially since cheaters ALWAYS leave telltale signs behind. Though most of them are quite subtle and easy to overlook. Knowing what to look for is the key. Otherwise, the innocent infidelity victim is doomed to be the last to know" How More Marriages and Relationships Can Be Saved Houston continues, "If more people really knew how to recognize the early warning signs of infidelity, more marriages could be saved. Unfortunately, many people still rely on the top 10 signs of infidelity as an indicator of whether or not they have a faithful mate. The reality is that the classic signs of infidelity are the first signs a cheating mate will cover up. I can't stress strongly enough that knowing what to look for is the key. Otherwise, the innocent infidelity victim is doomed to be the last to know" How to Be Sure Your Mate is Faithful When you look at the statistics, you can see why a faithful mate is indeed something to be thankful for. But what if you're not absolutely sure your spouse or significant other is among the small percentage of people who aren't cheating on their mates? Then be thankful you read this.
