Dreaming of Adultery
Dreaming That Your Mate Is Cheating on You Is Not Only the Most Common Dream of All, But According to Dream Expert Lauri Loewenberg . . . It's Good For You!!
Over 75% of us dream - more than four times a year - that our mate is getting his or her pleasures elsewhere while 50% of us get the 'cheating dream' at least once a month! These are the results of an online survey Loewenberg conducted on her website www.thedreamzone.com. There were over 5000 participants, 90% female and 10% male. 'There are a lot of people who get slapped in the face first thing in the morning because of thisdream!' says Lauri Quinn Loewenberg, author of Cracking The Dream Code After a long day at the office, an evening of helping the kids with their homework, paying bills and preparing for tomorrow, our dreams should be sweet by the time our head hits the pillow. So why do so many of us become victims of infidelity at night? The REAL Meaning Behind The Cheating Dream 'The reason is very simple,' says Loewenberg. 'The cheating dream happens when we are feeling CHEATED out of our time with our mate. The dreams are no fun because the feelings we experience in the dream are very real. These dreams hurt! But they are good for us because they are waking us up to the fact that something has been on the receiving end of our mate's time and attention rather than us. 'In my thirteen years of research, I've found that when a woman gets the cheating dream, 'the mistress' is usually hubby's work. No one seems to work just 9-5 anymore. Less often it's football or golf. When a man gets this dream, the culprit is usually his own kids! Once children come along, hubby is no longer babied. The kids get all the attention he used to get. And when it comes time for 'sexy-times', she's bushed!' Loewenberg says we are actually giving ourselves these dreams to bring attention to the lack of affection in our relationship. She says they are a news flash we send ourselves that it's time to re-ignite the flame that time, life, work and children have dimmed. 'The fact that these dreams are so common should be a warning to all of us that we need to be careful that we don't let life get in the way of the most important relationship of all. But could the 'cheating dream' actually be a warning sign that something is going on behind our back? 'There is always that possibility,' says Loewenberg. 'But before you start snooping through drawers and checking the call log on the cell phone, be sure there are other signs pointing to a possible infidelity than just a dream!' Other Common Dreams - According to Loewenberg's Survey - and What They Mean #2 Dreaming of Deceased Loved Ones - Most of the dreams of the deceased involve awareness in the dream that the person has died but that they have come back to visit and let us know they are all right. This dream may not necessarily need interpretation. #3 Dreaming Something Bad Happens to Our Children - These dreams happen when our children reach a milestone, such as learning to walk, starting a new grade, learning to drive, etc. These milestones are like a little death, the death of the younger child so that an older more independent child can emerge. How often have you looked at your child and said, "My God, where did that little baby go?" #4 Dreaming of Being Chased - This dream is caused by avoidance. Whatever is chasing us in the dream represents the issue we are running from in waking life. If you tend to avoid confrontations at all costs or avoid dealing with certain issues in hopes that they'll eventually go away, then you probably get this dream frequently. Learn to face your issues and deal with them immediately, and this dream will stop! #5 Back in School – Even decades after graduating we still find ourselves back in those cinder-blocked halls, looking for our class, struggling with our locker combination or running late for a test! This dream is most often caused by our job because it holds the same pressure as school: be on time, be prepared (do your homework), and do what you can to move on up to the next level. When you get this dream, see if you can associate the stress in your dream to a particular stress at your place of work.
