June 2, 2008, 2008 -- Hilco Industrial, LLC, http://www.hilcoind.com, will offer various types of used machinery and manufacturing assets from Lunt Manufacturing Company during a webcast equipment auction on June 12, 2008.
Lunt, the largest privately owned magnesium die casting company in the world, will be closing down after 35 years in business. Lunt maintained five facilities in Schaumburg, Illinois, plus their newest facility of over 150,000 sq. ft. in Hampshire, Illinois. The nature of their product line required the highest levels of production capability. The facilities contain state-of the-art manufacturing, inspection, process, quality assurance and material handing equipment.
This major webcast auction features 11 HPM magnesium/aluminum die casting machines with capacities of up to 400 tons, as well as hydraulic trim presses, magnesium melting furnaces, and die cast support equipment such as assembly machines and die cast sprayers. Also included are CNC machining centers, turning centers and vertical tapping centers. The large quantity of test and inspection equipment includes a 2006 Mark Industries X-ray inspection machine, four Mitutoyo CMM's, optical comparators, tensile and leak testers, and a 2006 digital thermal imaging camera, among more. Welding equipment, CNC parts handling robots, forklifts and pick-up trucks will also be sold.
