Senator Bill Frist - No More Delays – Bring The "Child Safety Act" To The Senate Floor For A Vote!!

The National Coalition of Victims in Action (NCVIA) – a nonprofit organization which represents victims of violent crime throughout our country (many of whom are parents of murdered children) adamantly calls upon United States Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) to bring S. 1086 – also known as the Child Safety Act – to the Senate floor for a vote. Following that, we call upon President George W. Bush to sign it into law with all due haste.

Polly Franks serves on the Board of Directors of the NCVIA, and is the mother of two daughters who were attacked by a former neighbor who turned out to be a convicted sexual predator from another state. Such a law, she maintains, would have prevented the crimes against her children. Franks added "I'm calling upon all Americans to let our collective voice be heard and to let our United States Senators – especially Senator Bill Frist – know we're tired of waiting for this to happen. Too much time has been wasted already. It is time to do everything we possibly can to stop the sexual assaults and murders of America's children at the hands of repeat violent offenders who have been released back into society and then lost in the system. Protecting America's kids is far more important than playing politics! To put it simply," Franks continued, "Dylan Groene didn't have to die. Neither did Polly Klaas, Samantha Runnion, Dru Sjodin or Jessica Lunsford, just to name a very few; innocent children whose lives came to a horrific and premature end because known sexual predators were released back into society and allowed to monitor themselves. These lost children had a right to be safe in their own homes. So do the rest of America's children. Our elected officials in the U.S. Senate need to get this done without any more delays, before America loses yet another child"
