The article titled, "Court of Public Opinion," explored Mercer-Nairne's views regarding America's involvement in the Iraq war and how our supposed greatest allies -- the Europeans -- truly felt about our 'cowboy' attitude toward this war. Mercer-Nairne, whose mother was American and whose father was the 8th Marquis of Landsdowne – making him an automatic member of Britain's ruling class -- was quoted as saying such controversial things as: "I don't think I have seen such a disconnect between the predominant European view and that of the U.S. administration as exists right now over Iraq" "Today, it is American and British soldiers fighting and Europeans who at best don't want to know, and at worst think that the Texan cowboy and his British lackey leading this mighty enterprise have lost their marbles" "… I can't tell you the strength of feeling against George Bush - it is incredible, almost venomous. There is a tremendous cultural divide" The editor at the Amarillo Globe-News who interviewed Mercer-Nairne and wrote the article said as soon as it ran, he received non-stop phone calls from conservative politicians spewing negative criticism for Mercer-Nairne's views of this war, America, and their leader. In a surprising twist, the manager of the Barnes and Noble which hosted Mercer-Nairne's signing and discussion said he was receiving phone calls all day from citizens asking to have a copy of Mercer-Nairne's controversial Iraq War book, "Like No Other," put on hold for them. Mercer-Nairne, continuing his national book tour in November, will be making stops at Barnes and Noble's including: * November 1 - Manhasset, NY * November 3 – Howell, NJ * November 9 – Bayside, NY * November 17 – Charlotte, NC * November 18 – Fayetteville, NC * November 22 – Brandon, FL Robert Mercer-Nairne is available for interviews and is guaranteed to provide insights and perspectives that can't be found anywhere else! # # # Smith Publicity
