New Family Tree Template
New Family Tree Template

Just in time for the new NBC series "Who Do You Think You Are," the Web site FamilyTreeTemplates.net has added to its collection of free printable family trees.

FamilyTreeTemplates.net was launched in 2008 and now offers 50 family tree templates for children, casual researchers and genealogists. The trees and ancestor charts download instantly and are available in two versions: a free PDF that can be written upon in pen and a premium $4 .DOC version that can edited and typed directly into using Microsoft Word.

The newest additions are four new fan charts for either four, five or six generations, arranged in a fan shape so it's especially easy to visualize family members' relationship to one another.

"The new NBC program is just another example of how people find value and enjoyment in tracing their family roots," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "Once you start the research process, it's easy to get 'hooked' on genealogy."

The new series, which is modeled after an extremely popular British program, tracks the surname origins and ancestry of celebrities such as Lisa Kudrow (its executive producer), Sarah Jessica Parker, Spike Lee, Brooke Shields and Susan Sarandon. The program began airing March 5.

FamilyTreeTemplates.net also has family trees with graphics, formal pedigree charts and trees with room for as many as seven generations. There are trees and charts for nontraditional families such as stepfamilies or adoptive families.

There are more than 60 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
