Do you have an Irregular Heart Beat?

More than five million Americans have the most common irregular heartbeat, called atrial fibrillation (AF or afib). AF is a quivering of the upper chambers of the heart due to misfiring of the heart's electrical signals and is characterized by heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, and sometimes by a fast heart rate. Medical costs for those with atrial fibrillation are typically five times higher than for those without it. As a significant cause of strokes, afib doubles the risk of death.
