The 36-Hour Course in Organizational Development," there are ten mistakes that leaders make over and over. The good news is that very few leaders make all of these mistakes. The bad news is that this is because the company usually doesn't survive long enough for the leader to make them all.
Two serious errors are seeing themselves as separate from the team, and leading through threats and fear. Fear is used in jujitsu to shut down an attacker's mind; it works the same way in business! Medical teams where the chief surgeon holds himself apart of the rest of the team or have a strong hierarchy are less able to deal with unexpected situations or new procedures.
