Warren Bennis & Jeffrey Jones
(October 30, 2009) Executive & Transcultural Leadership Coach Jeffrey Jones joined thought leaders Warren Bennis, Werner Erhard, and a remarkable group of the greatest minds in leadership and neuroscience at the recent NeuroLeadership Summit 2009, as part of his ongoing commitment to draw together and deliver cutting-edge research, philosophy and best practices in executive coaching services for his clients. The conference took place in Los Angeles on the Westwood campus of UCLA on October 27-29, 2009.
A brochure for the conference on the NLI site offers, "NeuroLeadership is an emerging field of study focused on bringing neuroscientific knowledge into the areas of leadership development, management training, change management, education, consulting and coaching. The NeuroLeadership movement is intended to help individuals and organizations of all types fulfill their potential through better understanding how the human brain functions at individual, team and systemic levels. The first NeuroLeadership Summit was held in 2007 in Asolo, near Venice. In 2008, two Summits were held in Sydney and New York City. The 2008 Summit programs were built around the theme of 'Making Connections.' This year's Summit, 'Toward Integration,' is being held at UCLA in Los Angeles, USA. The topics each year are designed to build on and develop the ideas presented at previous Summits." In addition to those mentioned, leading experts who are presenting at the event include: Daniel Siegel, author of best seller The Developing Mind, co-director of UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center; Jonah Lehrer, neuroscientist and author of recent bestseller How We Decide; Marco Iacoboni, leading mirror neuron researcher; Naomi Eisenberger, leading social neuroscience researcher; Yi-Yuan Tang, leading attention researcher; Matthew Lieberman, founding father of social cognitive neuroscience; Evian Gordon, leading brain researcher, building world's largest database of brain research; John Joseph, expert on teaching kids about the brain; Dr. Al Ringleb, Director, CIMBA Business School, Italy, co-founder, NeuroLeadership Institute; David Rock, author and global leadership consultant, co-founder, NeuroLeadership Institute. When asked about the NeuroLeadership Summit, Jeffrey remarked, "I was particularly interested in the discussion between David Rock & Dr. Yi-Yuan Tang on engagement. The level of employee engagement is a key issue for our clients and their dialogue was effective in articulating how we can help clients obtain an optimal cognitive and emotional state by drawing from the latest in the field of neuroscience. Unlike the previous conference in Sydney, this year offered more practical application. I was struck by Warren Bennis' theories on the financial impact of bad behavior in the workplace and I continue to be engaged by Werner Erhard's work with language as a context for emotional perception." ### Carrie Penalosa Mob: +63 920 902 1394 Phone: +852 2159 9135 Fax: +852 2159 9135 carrie.penalosa@humanfactorinternational.com 20th Floor Central Tower 28 Queens Road Central Hong Kong Thomas Irre Mob: +1 646 436 8759 Skype: thomasirre thomas.irre@humanfactorinternational.com US Jeffrey P.
