ElderCarelink Adds “ExtraCare” to Senior Care Roster in New York

ElderCarelink, a national online eldercare referral service, has helped over 450,000 families find quality local eldercare resources to support their needs. ElderCarelink is continually adding businesses to its roster, so caregivers around the country can, by taking a brief survey, decide on the services they need and the best available businesses to provide these services.
ElderCarelink is happy to announce a recent addition, "ExtraCare" to the referral service. According to Extra Care Administrator Marcia Morgan Parker, RN, ExtraCare provides services in the five boroughs of NYC & Nassau County, New York.
ExtraCare Home Care Agency has over 300 Home Health Aides & Personal Care Aides who provide direct care service to its clients. They provide home health aides, personal care, companionship, homemaker and housekeeping services. Additionally, there are 10 Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurses who provide skilled nursing care to the clients. The company is a Licensed Home Care Service Agency that is approved by New York State Department of Health.
"ExtraCare strives to provide nursing and paraprofessional/support care services to the elderly in the safety and comfort of their own homes, thus promoting wellness, independence and feelings of self-worth," Parker said.
"ExtraCare has been operating about eight years. It's owned and operated by a family that also owns and operates several Adult Homes / Assisted Living Programs in NYC. The decision to operate a licensed home care was a natural part of the extension of the services that the company already provides to the elderly, frail, disabled and indigent.
"Being a small home care agency, ExtraCare is able to provide individualized/personal services to each of its clients," Parker said. "Each client and caregiver is known by the administrative staff, which allows provisions and services to be more personal. The office staff rotates on-call services and is available 24x7, therefore clients and staff are talking to a live and familiar individual when they call after hours.
