Commercial sex exploitation and domestic trafficking are not only issues for women to address; men also need to become involved with ensuring that modern day slavery ceases. Shoe Revolt wants and needs men who are willing to fight against this injustice because men are currently seen as the root cause of the issue. Men, Shoe Revolt is inviting you to help end the modern day slavery of those that could easily be your mother, sister or daughter and become a major part of ending demand. This is not simply a fight for women against men, but an issue that all of us, no matter what gender, should be battling together. Remember if men didn't buy human beings, pimps couldn't sell them. In order to end demand, we need men to stand with Shoe Revolt in a simple gesture of donating their excellent condition/ high-end shoes.

Ateba Crocker the Founder of Shoe Revolt states: "I never thought the words and abuse from my father would turn me to the streets, but they did. It wasn't until later that I saw a positive male role model; it changed my life. I remember seeing Bill Cosby on TV - I never saw him abuse his on-screen daughter Vanessa. I knew after seeing his example that not all men exploit their children, and there were men out there who were gentle and caring. Seeing him gave me hope." Last year Crocker re-vamped the Shoe Revolt website because, "It was missing a major component: men."

Crocker continues: "This is not an issue of one gender fighting against another, but rather it requires men and women to work together to spread the message that real men protect women and children, and never exploit them." Shoe Revolt invites men to become involved by cleaning out their closets and donating shoes and sneakers or contacting their favorite athlete to ask for a shoe donation on behalf of Shoe Revolt.

Shoe Revolt has received many emails from men proclaiming that they want to join the revolt. Many male celebrities are donating autographed shoes as well. Celebrities like: Jesse Eisenberg (Social Media Movie), Kellan Lutz (star in the hit Twilight saga. He also starred in In Love, Wedding, Marriage, Nightmare on Elm Street, 90210, and Accepted, Summerland), Ken Baumann (currently staring in the hit show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Matt Lanter (known for his hit roles on 90210), and Jack McGee (an actor best known for his role on the FX series Rescue Me). Shoe Revolt also received a special gift from a young actor Nolan Gould who is best known for his starring role as Luke Dunphy on the critically acclaimed award winning ABC comedy Modern Family. Shoe Revolt is thankful for all the male celebrities that donated. However, right now the men's shoe category is empty! Shoe Revolt is in need of men, athletes and more male celebrities to donate shoes.

Shoe Revolt's flagship theme: the time has come for both men and women to roll up their sleeves and fight together, understanding that this is not a gender issue; it is a human issue. We all must work together, both genders, to work to raise money for programs here in the United States that are rescuing and restoring victims.
