Blogging is green marketing – for now and the future. You can blog for business now as you leave a sustainable footprint on the Web that continues to grow. That footprint is a business message that becomes clearer over time as it reaches a larger audience. This is what makes blogging green; the required resources are limited only by the time, creativity and discipline of the marketer.
The key to business blogging is having a purpose that drives your company's mission. Then you start planting seeds and let them grow. Green industry expert and marketer Jeff Korhan of True Nature Inc comments, "Blogging is storytelling with a purpose. And the purpose is getting your business phone to ring. Being competitive in tighter markets demands methods to get customers to take action now. There is little money to invest in time-consuming marketing campaigns like we did in the old days. As far as I'm concerned, if you aren't blogging today, you aren't serious about marketing" Social media marketing is also playing a major role in green marketing today. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and many more social media marketing and networking sites are helping marketers to literally put the face of their business on the Web. Connections are being made that are bringing together the needs of consumers with companies that have solutions for those needs. Jeff Korhan will be presenting the program Get Real! Launch Your Blog Now on October 25th at the Green Industry Conference (GIC) in Louisville, Kentucky. GIC is sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network, a leading green industry organization, which serves the needs of the thousands of green industry professionals that will be attending to learn how to grow their green business in this tight economy. Korhan suggests the following blogging and social media marketing strategies. Blogging for Green Business Now 1. Have a Clear Business Message -- Make a Sustainable Footprint 2. Use Keyword Phrases that Your Markets Use -- Own the Right Words 3. Carry Your Message with Purposeful Stories -- Make it Real! 4. Use Social Media Marketing to Connect -- Put a Face on Your Business 5. Have Discipline to Stay the Course -- Your Blogging is Never Done Jeff Korhan
