You may have had 20/20 eyesight all your life, but chances are if you are over 40, the print on the menu is becoming a blur. If you find you're starting to live in your glasses, then it's time to think about how to wear them with style. Here are 5 ways to co-ordinate your glasses with your wardrobe.
1. Match your eyeglasses to your fashion personality
If you like to wear traditional clothes, choose a traditional glasses frame. If your style is more funky, then your glasses should be funky too. If you live a double life and dress one way for work and another on your days off, consider having several pairs in different styles! There are all kinds of fun colored and patterned glasses out there that are great for weekends and make you look youthful over 40..
2. Co-ordinate your glasses with your accessory hardware
Are your glasses cool silver, or warm gold, or bronze? Then your accessories: your jewelry, belt buckle, and your purse hardware should coordinate.
3. Don't let your glasses and earrings fight each other
Since glasses are more prominent than earrings, let your earrings just be a nice accent. They should not compete for attention, so nothing too loud or dangly.
4. Consider your Face Shape
Balance is the key here. If you have a round face, try glasses that have a boxy or more rectangle look to them. Have a long face, then try a rounded lense. Oval? You're lucky, most any shape of glasses will look good on you!
5. Determine Weight and Scale
If you wear small, fine wire frames or rimless glasses, then you should wear small, fine jewelry in order to balance out your look. Prefer larger thicker rimmed glasses? Then bolder, chunkier earrings, necklaces and bracelets will co-ordinate perfectly.
