Recent attacks on organic gardening again rely on folks that do not believe in check finding. Facts are facts only if the facts fit what they want to believe. Then they act as if the “facts” are real facts, and the real facts (which do not fit into their beliefs) are not the real facts! Again, the authors show us that they cater to fear and outright lies about organic gardening and conventional gardening. Chemical gardening folks do not like us to call it Chemical Gardening so they go with conventional as if that would fool us.
The on-going argument that organically vs. conventionally grown foods have the same nutritional value is understandable; because most folks haven’t the faintest idea what it takes to grow food especially properly nutrient rich food. They are under the mistaken concept that if it looks good then it has to be right, and the nutrients are the same as organically grown, so why pay so much more? The argument also ignores the pollution factors that comes with “conventionally” grown even as far as to say that organically grown uses pesticides also?
Foods that are nutritionally rich is only one reason why I buy organically grown (actually certified organic); not exposing myself, my family, my pets, my environment, my earth to the toxic waste and pollution caused by chemicals in all things not just in farming is also important to me. Chemical fertilizers alone do considerable damage to our ecosystem.
GEO foods are, in my opinion, very dangerous to our health and our ecosystem. While GMO’s overall are safe, GEO has not be tested at all and may lead to very dangerous health problems down the road as well as a critical environmental issue. We cannot be test subjects for the greedy companies that are making and promoting lies to the general public about the safety and through testing? An independent source should test all GEO’s food and thoroughly test for decades before being released to the world.
