Introducing our next Ad Council #ChampionForGood: Amazon’s Jamin Gluck! Ad Council’s Champion for Good series spotlights industry individuals for their continued commitment to social good and how they serve as champions for Ad Council campaigns. We caught up with Jamin to find out more about his favorite social good ad campaign and his role at Amazon…
Smokey Bear or McGruff?
Smokey Bear, all day, every day. I’ve been camping in the woods for as long as I can remember, and Smokey Bear has been a part of my camping memories since the very beginning.
What’s on your desktop home screen?
My desktop home screen rotates. Half of the time it’s a picture of my Goldendoodle, Toula. The other half is a picture of me in front of the Great Wall of China, taken during my time studying abroad in Hong Kong
Android or iPhone?

Favorite social platform?
Recently, I’ve really enjoyed Instagram. Instagram does an excellent job of capitalizing on the idea that a picture says a thousand words, and I am constantly impressed by the creativity throughout the platform. Not only do I follow the exciting lives of my friends and family, but I also get my news and local updates from Instagram as well.
Favorite social good ad campaign?
During this year’s Earth Day, for the first time ever, Amazon.com had a social good ad campaign on the homepage of the website. The Ad Council partnered with Amazon Studios to promote Annedroids, an Amazon TV series, and Keep America Beautiful, the nation‘s leading nonprofit that brings people together to build and sustain vibrant communities. This joint initiative encouraged Amazon shoppers to recycle and re-purpose their Amazon boxes, and it was a prime example of a win-win partnership.
In a nutshell, what’s your job/what do you do?
It’s my job to understand the unique marketing needs of non-profits and then provide ways to utilize Amazon and its data to meet those needs. I am an Account Executive responsible for building relationships and fostering partnerships between Amazon and NPOs.
How do you think advertising can be a force for good?
Whether we know it or not, our decisions are heavily impacted by the advertisements that surround us. To name just a few, advertising influences the products we purchase, the entertainment we watch and the leaders we follow. And with such an ability to have an impact, advertising can be a force for good as it educates its viewers and encourages behaviors that support a common, productive goal.
What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever been given?
The best professional advice I’ve ever received is “write down your goals.” Writing down my goals, actually putting my ideas onto paper, helps me articulate my aspirations and stay focused on my ultimate objectives. Not only does this advice apply to my profession, but also to my life as a whole!
