FaxZero faxing service

The destinations of the 1.67 million faxes sent by the free and low-cost internet fax service FaxZero.com during 2016 ranged from corporations to government entities.

"At the end of each year, I take a look at which companies and organizations received the most faxes from FaxZero users," said Kevin Savetz, the website's founder. "I'm pleased that so many businesses and agencies urge their clients to use FaxZero, because the service is so convenient and FaxZero carefully guards all personal information."

Just as in the last two years, in 2016 Amazon.com was the most popular destination of FaxZero users, with 14,323 faxes being sent there.

Debt and credit services were also among the top destinations. American Express's AMEX Assurance Company was the second most-faxed company with 5,572 faxes sent via FaxZero. Also popular was FedLoan, servicing the U.S. Department of Education (3,764 faxes), and the disputes department of the credit score tracker Equifax (2,429 faxes).

FaxZero helps people get in touch with social service agencies, too. In 2016, that included FSSA: Indiana Family and Social Services (4,347 faxes sent there), Texas Health and Human Services Commission (2,715 faxes) and the Department of Transitional Assistance (2,665 faxes).

Also faxed quite a bit last year were: Cerebral Palsy of Massachusetts (2,625 faxes), the National Personnel Records Center (2,598 faxes) and the Autism waiver provider CHAMP: Children Achieving Maximum Potential (2,597 faxes).

Other often-faxed entities were: Credentials, Inc., AFLAC, Ameritrade, the Aetna claims department and various credit card companies.

For the first time, the permit reservation department for Yosemite National Park showed up among the list of most-faxed destinations, at 2,185 faxes received via FaxZero.

In prior years, top recipients have included: eBay, the Health and Human Services Commission, Twitter, the New York Department of Labor and Sallie Mae Loan Deferment.

Savetz, who started FaxZero in 2006, has expanded the service to work not only with computers but cell phones as well. FaxZero accepts documents in DOC, PDF and other formats. A fax cover page can be created via the website, or users can add a custom file. Faxes generally take five minutes or less to transmit.

"It's gratifying to see how many businesses, agencies and individuals find FaxZero helpful," Savetz said. "I'm looking forward to millions more free and low-cost faxes being sent in 2017."

FaxZero lets users send five free faxes per day (with a three-page limit per fax) to anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. FaxZero also offers a premium faxing option for $1.99 per fax, with no daily limit and up to 25 pages per fax. There's also an international fax option for as low as $2 (pricing depends on nation faxed) that allows users to send faxes to more than 180 countries around the world. FaxZero has a directory that makes it simple to fax a Congressperson or Senator for free.

"Internet faxing is increasingly popular as it's so convenient," Savetz said. "The more than 14.3 million faxes sent via FaxZero since its inception is more evidence of that."

FaxZero has been featured in publications such as U.S. News, Reuters and PC World. Savetz, an expert on internet faxing since the early 1990s, is the creator of more than 90 FreePrintable.net sites including FreeFaxCoverSheets.net, with its nearly 300 fax cover sheet designs.

FaxZero.com is part of Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
