Father and Daughter- Eleanor and Dad

Video Clip: Click to Watch

Eleanor Roosevelt's father was a big game hunter, a romantic and a man who challenged her to embrace the world.  It must have worked.  You can find a wealth of Roosevelts on the web (see below) or can use Brown Paper Tickets to get a seat regularly...thus forwarding consumer access to independent theatre in your local venue or neighborhoods you've yet to discover.

You can research Eleanor Roosevelt through her archives, through television documentaries, through articles and through her legacy in our thoughts and minds. Even though she's been "dead these many years", her spirit lives on.  You can see it by googling or listen and see it by heading to the First Unitarian Universalist Church's Channing Hall this Sunday.

California is a very diverse cultural mix of immigrants, transplants, new hires, and traders.  We are composed of these Asian Populations for example taken from the 2010 Census:

….."there were a total of 17,941,286 respondents who claimed to be Asian American and Asian.[20] Out of these respondents in the United States,[21] 30.9% live in California, with 5,556,592 Asian Americans being counted by the 2010 Census.[22] This is a 1.5 million growth in population from the 2000 census, making Asian Americans 14.9 percent of the state's population.[23] Out of those almost 5.6 million Asian Americans in California there are 1,474,707 Filipinos, 1,349,111 Chinese, 647,589 Vietnamese, 590,445 Indians, 505,225 Koreans, 42,814 Japanese, 109,928 Taiwanese, 102,317 Cambodians, 91,224 Hmong, 69,303 Laotians, 67,707 Thais, 53,474 Pakistanis, 39,506 Borneons, Sumatrans, and Indonesians, 17,978 Burmese, 11,929 Sri Lankans, 10,494 Bangladeshis, 6,231 Nepalese, 5,595 Malaysians, 4,993 Mongolians, 1,513 Singaporeans, 1,377 Okinawans, and 750 Bhutanese.[22]"

As a reading, Bo Lebo and Ande Kims will be able to represent the impact of trade, communication, and diplomacy that has so impacted California where one of the biggest  Una-USA chapters resides.

We are reminded about service and activism for children and women, the poor, and the disenfranchised….that

"we can only fail if we forget the path of footprints left before us….."

In other words, this is an uplifting and current dramatic one act that follows on Eleanor's works to  "Preserve today, inspire tomorrow" (SF Asian Art initiative http://www.seattleartmuseum.org/inspire).  Brown Paper tickets are available on your phone, through 24 hour customer service, as an eticket if you haven't yet gotten your ticket in the mail.  Tickets will be sold at the door of Channing Hall and parking is adjacent to the church.  Come early on Sunday, July 3rd and books will be available to read along.
